#AyalaCitizen Diary: Protect
Every Ayala Citizen played an important role in the way the company responded to the pandemic. Here are anecdotes and insights shared by some of those who were right there in the trenches protecting our communities
Protect the Public
Christian Lloyd Silapan, IMI Process Development Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME)
“We were part of the team that developed the UCL Ventura Flow Generator, a non-invasive ventilator that can help COVID-19 patients who have difficulty breathing. It took teamwork to make its prototype a reality.
“Remotely working from home is particularly challenging in the manufacturing industry. Collaboration was the key to make the set-up work. The manufacturing team — including Quality, Engineering, Materials, Warehouse, TSD and Sales Groups—were all supportive about what was needed to push the project forward. After months of patience, problem solving, and teamwork, AME and the rest of the team at IMI are now preparing to mass produce the UCL Ventura Flow Generator for its official release and use in the Philippines.
This will be the first time the company is manufacturing a product with its name engraved on it—a sign to remind us to never back down in helping COVID-19 patients breathe, while protecting the safety of our health care workers.”
Protect the Employees
Ana Bobadilla, APMC Estates Management Car Parks Division
“More than half of the Estates Management Group’s (EMG) Car Parks Division is composed of cashiers. We would like them to feel safe and confident, and to ensure that they are protected while serving our customers.
“With that goal in mind, the team decided to create and implement safety measures based on WHO and LGU guidelines, and inputs from health experts. Looking back, we feel greatly accomplished that we significantly contributed to the safety and peace of mind of our on-duty cashiers, enabling them to focus on their work without being too anxious about their environment.
“Under Ayala Land’s Care in Every Step, we see to it that the safety and health of our service providers are as important as our commitment to serve the customers.”
Protect the Ayala Spirit
Jaraa Biancla Lumaguip, Retail Specialist, Trinoma Globe Store Team
“Nung nag-start yung ECQ, naging concern sa amin yung mental health ng isa’t isa, like depression and anxiety. Inisip namin, paano na kami ngayon na nasa bahay nalang, at wala sa loob ng store. Hindi naman po pwede na puro huddle-huddle na lang. Kaya po kami nagpapa-activity at mga games, contests, at ibang online group activities kahit dito lang sa Zoom.
“Ginawa namin ito para mawala yung mga negative thoughts at [ma-maintain ang morale].” #
